Independent Non-Executive Director
1-2 days per month / c£4000 per annum
As a Non-Executive Director at Unitas, you’ll play a major role in shaping its future and delivering the Shareholder’s objectives for the business. Working closely with the other Board members and the Independent Chair, you will provide additional knowledge and insight from your career to date. Whilst you may not have previously held a non-executive position, you will have had experience of operating at Board level and be able to demonstrate leadership skills and sound commercial acumen. Importantly, you will know how to convert strategy into delivery and how to work with the Council as Shareholder to make this a reality. We have a strong relationship with the Council, and we will continue to be aligned strategically and commercially. You will work with the other Board members to navigate this relationship with the Council alongside looking at how Unitas can be modernised.
Whilst we are open minded on your background, we will be looking to you for your insights on how to best position Unitas for growth. Whether from a branding, sales or commercial approach, you will be confident in your ability to contribute to the Board around these topics. You’ll be able to demonstrate commercial business know-how and have operated in a business to business or business to consumer environment previously.
You will be naturally collaborative as a person and believe in the value of transparency. You will be confident in providing advice and challenge in equal measure, and importantly you will be passionate and relentless in your focus on how to add best value to the Board, and to Executive Leadership team. You will be able to demonstrate sound commercial awareness and judgement and be confident discharging the duties as outlined in Sections 171-177 of the Companies Act 2006.
You’ll be joining Board members who have helped to develop Unitas into the strong position it is in today. However, they aren’t complacent and there is a determination to do more, do better and for someone to come in who can bring more diverse thinking and challenge the status quo.
